The Sorcery Examination has just begun, aspiring professional witches and wizards have exactly six months to obtain the Crystal Pearl. But only one team could win. Will it be San (No.003), the girl who loves sweets and her partner Forte (No.0004), the boy who makes them? Or will it be Go (No.005), Rokka’s (No.006) guradian? Or maybe it’s Nanase(No.006) and Yakumo (No.007), the guy with a Kansai dialect. As the hunt begins, only one team wins. But what if the Crystal Pearl is actually inside a human girl named Nina? Another team vows to protect her against all the participants, partner’s Zero and Icchi. For six whole months they go wherever Nina is and protects her with their life. Who will win the contest?
~*~

(SPOILER WARNING)
The story also has an anime version and a sequel. :) It’s pretty good. It’s hard to decide who I wanted Nina to end up with. Icchi and Zero are both so damn cute. :P Icchi has a prince in a white horse feel, while Zero has a spoiled brat feel. :P Ok, that didn’t sound good. But I like Zero the way he is. XD Especially after reading about their past. Well, the story is pretty anime like (duh. XD Must I really say that. :P), with different characters popping out of nowhere. It’s nice how even if the whole situation is absolutely unrealistic, the author was able to make it seem possible, if not then normal.
Although the reason why and how Nina powers is still vague. I suspect that it’s because of the Crystal Pearl inside her body, but who know maybe she is a witch. I should read the sequel. :P
One thing I like is how the author is able to express the situation in a serious yet light tone. The action scenes were fast-moving but weren’t too intense. It’s an easy read. She had successfully maintained her tone throughout the whole story. You can clearly see that she’s writing for a certain audience. Thus drawing a fine line to not give too much of anything. With the right amount of drama, action, romance and fantasy, she was able to make the story more fun and friendly.
As for the drawing, I had a feeling the author favored Icchi. XD (She admitted that Icchi is her favorite character.) Icchi is really handsome, Zero is very cute and cool. In the human world, Icchi looks like ‘the boy next door’ type or the ‘cute seatmate who’s also an honor student’ or your mom’s friend’s son. XD Zero is more like ‘my childhood friend who keeps on teasing me but I kind of like him’ type or ‘the guy from the other class who always cause a ruckus’. XD LOL, sorry for the long words. Nina is pretty lucky to have them by her side. Although about Nina, I wasn’t really fond of her hair at first, but I learned to live with it. I like her hair when it’s tied or when it’s short. :P I also LOVE San and Forte! THEY ARE SO CUTE! Forte looks like a prince and a princess. XD San looks like a doll, she has that lolita-feel. I also like PEARL! SO ADORABLE! RYU~

Oh! And I also find Eleven and Twelve’s love tests cute. XD Do you think it’s accurate? :)
(I know this is late, I forgot to publish it. D:)

(SPOILER WARNING)

Really, how can someone draw such cute characters and have an adorable storyline? It’s like killing two birds with one stone! Truth is, I wasn’t fond of Karin during the first few chapters, I also disliked some of the characters facial expressions when they’re drawn in a different way.
I’m taking about this:

Turning into this:

*SIGH*
I was uncomfortable with it at first but as I’ve grown to love them. Same with Karin, I was getting attached to her. I think she slowly changed for the better, she became more mature and a lot more cuter.
Karin and Kazune are now part of my top 3 favorite couples! Alongside Natsume & Mikan; and Syaoran & Sakura. They are so adorable together! The story’s twist was pretty amazing, I can’t believe this was supposed to be a one-shot that continued due to popular demand. XD
It’s a really cute story! And it’s not boring at all. It’s funny and it makes you think and anticipate what’s going to happen next. During the climax, I could really feel the story’s intensity as it was getting closer and closer to the truth. I couldn’t sleep because I wanted to finish this in one sitting! XD Since there’s an anime version of this, I’m also thinking of watching that. :))
Btw, I’m currently reading the sequel, but I’m not done yet. :) I like the sequel, it gives off that husband and wife feeling from Kazune and Karin. :P SUZUNE!

(WARNING: SPOILERS)
For character development and the character’s growth, Nagika’s character hardly changed. But that doesn’t mean that her character was flat. Her character was just consistent. Her energy all through out the manga is the same from start till the end. I could say that she grew stronger, but she was already strong before. I think Akane and Daichi had the biggest character growth. Daichi changed a lot thanks to Nagika, same with Akane. Nagika is pretty much the eye of the storm. She’s more of an instrument to everyone’s life, someone that came to change them.
Sora’s death was just too sad. I knew it was going to happen (I read the summary :P) so I wasn’t surprised, but I still cried. Especially after Nagika saw him during the competition, I cried so much. But I think that this is an important event for the plot to fully develop. After that Daichi changed and became mature. But I still wish the author used another method for that. It was too sad, too heartbreaking. But at least he can live on through Najika’s dream.
When Nagika wasn’t able to go to the competition, I was a bit glad. I’m afraid she wouldn’t win with her current skills. Although she is on par with Mizuno’s skills, she still lacks training, thus if Nagika had one more year to train, she can absolutely do better. Plus, if she went there and won, she wouldn’t be able to know who the Flan Prince was. :P
The manga as whole is better than it’s parts, but when we look at paintings and pictures don’t we appreciate them as a whole? Rainbows for example are just the colors red, orange blah blah blah but as a whole rainbows look amazing. So I think the author did a great job, her story was consistent and focused mainly on Nagika, her flan prince and cooking. There might be questionable aspects, but as whole, the story was able to meet ends.
I like this manga, it reminds me of Baker King. I don’t really like sad dramatic mangas, but I couldn’t stop reading. I saw how much the characters, especially Najika, went through but in the end it’s all good. They became stronger and better people, and they wouldn’t be able to smile like that if they had never experience those things. I really recommend reading this. :)

I also like how they also put the recipes Najika and the other make in the story! Here’s a sample page. :)

Minami’s mother and Otome’s father got married 5 years ago. Siblings with a 3 day age gap, Otome and Minami Hasaki now shares a room due to their grandmother moving in because of her recent surgery. Although they decided to divide the room with a sheet of cloth, Otome often rolls out from her bed to Minami’s side, resulting to Minami seeing things he shouldn’t. Everything would have been fine if only they were blood-related, but what if their feeling become more than just sisterly/brotherly love? Will the Hasaki siblings become siblings forever? Or will they enter a new chapter?
——
I think it’s a cute story. I’ve always wanted to both read and write something like this. Really, if I had a hot stepbrother, that would be more convenient right? Kidding. :) I really love Haruka Fukushima sama’s works. :) The drawings are very good too! :) Although even until the end, I still don’t know why it’s called Cherry Juice. XD

Eisuke is living with middle school student Rui, while Rui’s childhood friend Tarou is living next door, but the problem is Eisuke is an apprentice teacher at their school! What will happen if someone finds out? Better tell this to Haru-chan! But who is Haru-chan anyway?

(WARNING: Spoilers ahead)
Ok. I hate this. No not the story, I hate myself for reading the last chapter first. I didn’t know that it was the last chapter, all I know is that I was confused while reading. Argh. But I still read it from the start till the end, it’s a good story. I realized a lot of things. Since I was rooting for TarouXRui, because they have been friends since they were little, plus it is possible for Rui to really like Tarou. I actually didn’t like Eisuke to be with her. I hate how his timing is right at when Rui is really going to fall in love with Tarou. I thought that the author should do something to make up for Eisuke’s lack of presence. And she did, since Eisuke is Haru-chan, that created a huge difference. At that point, I finally accepted Eisuke and Rui’s relationship.
Haruka Fukushima’s mangas are really entertaining. I’m looking forward to reading more of her works. :)

“Romeo and Juliet”

When Shuutoku’s AAA, Ogata Aoi, is inlove with Akutoku’s CCC, Kuroda Hayato, everyone seems to against it. The president of the elite school and the gang leader of the delinquent school is dating? It’s like Romeo and Juliet middle school-modern version. XD
The story seems to have some questionable situations but since the they focused on mostly one side of the story (Aoi’s point of view), it looks like Hayato’s life is another story. It’s a cute love story about first loves. I like how Hayato’s character is cool and not cheesy at all. The way Aoi changes when he met Hayoto may seem like the guy’s being a bad influence to her, but somehow it helped changed the worsening school atmosphere. It really felt like two kingdoms are coming together as one.
Aoi maybe holding on to her past feelings, and the past Hayato, but she may have not realize that her present feelings for the present Hayato are stronger now. I think she does like him a lot, accepting his flaws and all. As they say, love is blind.
The plot was good, concrete and focused. The ending was adorable. This manga made me want to read the mangaka’s other works. :)

“Eye Candy”

Tamae-chan had always wanted a baby, but Yousuke doesn’t seem to want one. One day she finds three babies with unusual powers, but before she can keep them she has to prove to herself that she can be a good mother. Would the babies accept Tamae-chan and Yousuke as their Mama and Papa? And by the way, babies are the new pets in town from baby island. (What were you thinking? :P)

It’s a pretty cute manga. Probably a good and fun read for girls younger than me. The story is light and revolves mostly around the babies. During the early chapter, all I could read were babies, babies, babies. But I’m not complaining, the babies are cute. Although they remind me of Takoyaki sometimes. Uh-oh, that’s not a good thing. XD I also admire the drawings in this manga, Ms. Ema Tōyama’s drawings are always very detailed and eye-catching. Everyone looks so cute. The eyes of the characters are my favorite. Everyone here is, well, an eye-candy. So if you love cute things, you’ll love reading this. :)

For week two, I’ll be reviewing the mangas I’m reading. Just so reading them wouldn’t be a waste. :P At least it’s more productive this way, I guess. XD
